Jul 8, 2006 · Help with 1917 Erfurt Markings. Attached is my 1917 Erfurt shooter, matching but refinished at some point, could someone tell me what the Unit Marking stand for? 7.R.11.7. It is interesting; in that the “11” appears both under the grips and on the back side of the trigger plate. Technically, a "VoPo Luger" is a Luger that was issued to and used by the East German Volkspolizei ("VoPo"), and is identifiable as such by Volkspolizei property markings. Your Luger is not a VoPo Luger. Rather it is a Luger that was overhauled and exported from Germany after West Germany and the (former) East Germany were reunited into one nation.
