I solved it in 5 minutes with $2 in materials. Took 400 grit sandpaper and sanded the contacts (both sides, bonnet and base) clean. It’s disappointing to see that LR doesn’t think this is a common problem, as I have seen it mentioned several times by others on here. Slightly bend the bonnet contacts outward (toward the direction they are already bent) to make a stronger contact with the base side when installed.
