Publix's "A Life of Flavors" commercial with the annoying Cab Calloway song. Who wants to watch people eat obnoxiously while some dude rhymes foods with names? ... I'm talking about Publix in a subreddit community devoted to companies whose commercials we hate. I haven't shopped at a Publix in years.I've worked Walmart, Kroger, and now Publix. Compared to those two Publix is a lot better. It's still retail and a lot of people can't handle working it and just immediately lash out at anyone saying anything slightly positive, but ultimately the biggest factor in how much you like your job is gonna be your direct management, regardless of what company you work for.

If your just talking retail, the worst position is GTL. The best is Store Manager. GTL has the responsibility of a department manager with the pay of a GRS. Company wide the worst position I've seen is Mix Helper in the dairy plant, and I'd imagine the best position is something on the corporate level. Probably dealing with charity or something.Just so you know, a lot of store managers hate hiring mini minors (14/15). So if you don't have luck at one, try another nearby! We have one 15 y/o at my store, but the rest are 16 or 17. Also, don't expect a lot of hours. A lot of minors get 1-2 shifts per week, and they'd probably only have you work 3 hours/day.I hate working at publix. 66 likes. Community
