Adams-McGill Reservoir is located on the Kirch Wildlife Management area (formerly Sunnyside). The land was purchased by the state in April of 1959 from Ervin Hendrix who purchased it from the Adams-McGill Company in 1943. The area was mainly acquired for its wetland values for waterfowl.KICCO Wildlife Management Area (WMA) consists of more than 7,000 acres along the channelized Kissimmee River in Polk County south of SR 60. About 13 miles of the Florida Trail traverse the area through oak hammock, scrub, cypress strand, and pine-palmetto flatwoods.
